Airport Sees Record Number of Passengers

RAPID CITY, SD, 01/18/2019 - The Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP) is proud to announce a second record breaking year for 2018. Total passengers were 625,918, which is a 5% increase over our previous record year in 2017 of 595,936 passengers. Passenger enplanements (total number of passengers boarding the aircraft at RAP) also increased by 5.3%, going from 295,215 enplanements in 2017, to 310,810 in 2018. The addition of a new route to New York/Newark and expansion of the Charlotte route contributed to the historic year.

We would like to thank all of our customers for helping to make this milestone happen, along with the hard working staff of the Rapid City Regional Airport, who works 24-7-365 to keep our airport safe and operational,” said Airport Executive Director Patrick Dame.
