The Rapid City Fire Department hosted the Recruit Graduation Ceremony at The Journey Museum Thursday with a dozen recruits graduating.
The Rapid City Firefighters Pipe and Drum Corps and the Department's Honor Guard opened the ceremony with the presentation of colors followed by an introduction and remarks by Interim Fire Chief Rod Seals. Capt. Calen Maningas provided the invocation followed by Lt. Hunter Harlan, Academy Instructor, who addressed the graduates.
The Honorable Judge Jeff Davis adminised the Firefighter Oath to the graduates, followed by the Badge Pinning Ceremony which included family members of each of the graduating recruits.
The Recruit Class of 2017: Michael Vallone, Austin Mitchell-Briggs, Dustin Kotzenmacher, Donavin Neugebauer, Jans Carlson, Jordan Johnson, Nate Hower, Jonny Knutson, Matthew Curly, Dane Carlson, Brent Rutherford and Bryan Ott.
