Third largest November for permits issued;
Valuation total nearing $260 million for the year
RAPID CITY, SD--Rapid City issued the third-most building permits for the month of November as total permit valuation for the year nears $260 million.
Last month, the City's Building Services Division issued 403 permits with a total valuation of $18,011,483. The November permit total is the third highest for any November, outpaced only by November 2013 (587) and November 2012 (408). November and December are traditionally slow months for the issuance of building permits resulting in lower valuation totals. Last month's valuation total is the fourth-best November for the City for permit valuation.
Top permits issued for November include improvements at Floyd Fitzgerald Stadium ($4,112,400); 4WG LLC for the Wenzel Plaza building shell and coffee shop at 3464 Sturgis Road ($1,142,734); and a series of permits to Yasmeen Dream LLC for several apartment complexes on Timberwolves Drive and Lakers Drive ($440,000-$590,000).
With one month left in 2020, the City has issued a total of 5,351 building permits, the third-best annual total. The total permit valuation for the year stands at $259,575,812, fifth-highest valuation total in the City's history.
