Railroad Crossing Repairs Scheduled; Traffic To Be Detoured

EMERGENCY RAILROAD TRACK REPAIRS FRIDAY

WILL RESULT IN FIFTH STREET DETOUR

RAPID CITY, SD-The Rapid City, Pierre and Eastern Railroad will be making emergency repairs to the Fifth Street crossing, resulting in detours in the area this Friday, October 12.  

            Effective Friday, northbound  traffic on 5th Street between Main Street and Omaha will be detoured to Nikko Street, east to 3rd St, and north to Omaha, for emergency repairs to the tracks. 

            This work is expected to be completed later in the day Friday.

ON NORTH LACROSSE STREET

Traffic Will Be Detoured During Week's Reconstruction Work

RAPID CITY, SD—The Rapid City, Pierre and Eastern Railroad will reconstruct the railroad crossing at North Lacrosse Street, resulting in detours next week for northbound and southbound traffic in the affected area.  

            Effective Monday, October 15, North Lacrosse Street will be closed from East Adams Street to East Van Buren Street for railroad crossing reconstruction. The detour route for northbound traffic will be East North Street to Anamosa Street. The detour route for southbound traffic will be Anamosa Street to East North Street. 

            The project will include pad and track replacement, lifting of the track bed and recompaction.  The City will conduct patch work on the sidewalk and street.  

            This work is expected to be completed by Friday, October 19.
