MUNICIPAL AND SCHOOL CANDIDATES BEGIN CIRCULATING PETITIONS MARCH 1
Election Packets for City, School Elections Available
RAPID CITY--Candidates for mayor, alderman and the school board can begin circulating petitions Wednesday. The municipal and school elections are scheduled for Tuesday, June 6.
Election packets for the municipal candidates are available at the City Finance Office, 300 Sixth Street. Any petitions signed or notarized before March 1 will not count. Petitions containing signatures of at least 50 persons registered to vote in a candidate's ward must be filed with the City Finance Office by March 28 at 5 p.m.
Questions about the City elections can be directed to the Finance Office at 394-4143.
Election packets are also available for school board positions in Representative Areas Four and Five. Packets can be picked up at the School Business Office, 300 Sixth Street. Candidates can begin circulating petitions on March 1 and any petitions signed or notarized prior to March 1 will not count. Petitions containing the signatures of at least 20 persons registered to vote in the candidate's representative area must be filed with the School Business Office by 5 p.m. March 28.
