City Greenhouse Manager Tim Forster retires today after 29 years of City service.
Each year, Forster and his crew raise, plant and nurture 40-50,000 flowers and several hundred rose bushes that are placed in the City's parks, frontage areas and numerous visitor locations around the City.
Forster works through the winter months raising the flowers in the City's greenhouse off Canyon Lake Drive and most of them are planted in May, then managed by Parks employees and seasonal workers during the summer and early fall months.
Thank you, Tim, for your dedication and hard work in helping to make Rapid City such a beautiful place to live, work, play and visit.
Happy retirement!
