Two new shade enclosures at the Parkview Tennis Courts are adding positive amenities to the sports complex while providing an important shield from prolonged exposure to the sun.

The Physicians from the Skin Institute at the Rapid City Medical Center, LLP, donated $14,000 for construction of two shade structures at the Parkview Tennis Courts.  The structures were recently completed.

A donation sign at the entrance of one of the Parkview courts reminds patrons to seek shade, wear sun-protective clothing and apply sunscreen of 30 SPF or higher.

"There is a tremendous amount of recreational activities at the Parkview Sports Complex, including the tennis courts and the shade structures will provide needed relief from the sun and hot temperatures as well as add to the enjoyable experiences for the general public," said Doug Lowe, Recreation Division Manager for the City's Parks and Recreation Department.
