RAPID CITY, SD--In an effort to promote community involvement and capture public input in the design of the Civic Center Expansion Project, the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center is forming two committees with a focus on design and operations.
Each committee will have 10-12 members selected by the Design Team, Civic Center Officials and the Mayor's office. Committee members will represent a cross-section of Rapid City and surrounding communities and those that use the facility.
The Design Committee will provide feedback on potential design elements such as fixtures, finishes and the overall look and feel that is to be included in the new Expansion. The Operations Committee will provide feedback on potential operation elements such as logistics, transit and ease of use to be considered within the new Expansion.
"This is a great opportunity to be an integral part of this exciting project that will have a lasting impact on the future of our wonderful community," said Civic Center Director Craig Baltzer.
Applicants agree to serve on the 10-12 member committee if selected and attend a minimum of at least three meetings in the upcoming phases of the project.
Applications will be accepted until September 28, 2018.
