Salamun shared updates on a number of local issues including the Civic Center Arena expansion; youth ridership on the Rapid Transit System (RTS) which is up 26.45% this school year; Rapid City Collective Impact and the location of 10 local sites serving free, well-balanced meals to kids ages 1-18 this summer; the solid increase in City building permits and valuation in 2018; the opening of renovated Robbinsdale Park; and updates at Rapid City Regional Airport, local economic development activity, and the upcoming reopening ceremony for the Mt. Rushmore Road project.

The Vision Fund process is scheduled to be opened up again in the second half of 2018, according to Salamun.
