City Staff Participates in Day of Caring Activities

A City team of department directors and officials participated in the United Way of the Black Hills annual Day of Caring in Rapid City September 7.  

 The City team provided clean-up work at the educational gardens at the Canyon Lake Senior Citizens Center.   Before the work site activities, City officials including Council members Darla Drew, Jason Salamun and Ritchie Nordstrom and department officials joined more than 1,100 volunteers at a luncheon.

City team members consisted of Rapid City Police Chief Karl Jegeris, Parks and Recreation Director Jeff Biegler, Public Works Director Dale Tech, Airport Director Patrick Dame, Civic Center Director Craig Baltzer, Finance Officer Pauline Sumption, City Attorney Joel Landeen and Budget Analyst Sean Kurbanov.

The United Way of the Black Hills Day of Caring brings together hundreds of volunteers with agencies and community projects that need assistance during one day of community-wide volunteer efforts.
