The Rapid City Airport Board of Directors is responsible for the general oversight of the Airport. The Board has the ability to sign contracts and authorize expenditure of funds needed to operate the facility. Meetings are held regularly on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. at the Rapid City Regional Airport. Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed. Individuals with at least five years of experience in any of the following professions are encouraged to apply: law, banking, finance, investments, tourism, industry, commerce, engineering, accounting, planning, labor or agriculture. Members are required to be residents of the City or reside within the City’s 3-mile jurisdiction.
Mayoral appointments are recommended by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council. The Black Hills Retired Senior Volunteer Program, also known as RSVP+, is a grant funded program awarded to the City of Rapid City by the Corporation of National and Community Service for the purpose of engaging persons 55 and older in volunteer services to meet critical needs of the community.
The Community Advisory Group is tasked with providing direction and general program administration to the Black Hills Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Interested candidates should be knowledgeable of human and social needs of the community; competent in the field of community service and volunteerism; capable of helping the sponsor meet its administrative and program responsibilities including project assessment, fund-raising, publicity and programming for impact; have an interest in and knowledge of the capability of older adults; and reflect the demographics of the service area.
