Website posting will identify new projects and their locations in community
RAPID CITY--In an effort to communicate more efficiently with the general public regarding active construction projects in the community and department activities, the City's Community Development Department is publishing weekly informational reports and a quarterly newsletter.
The new communications tools were announced at today's 'Coffee With Planners' event, hosted by the City's Planning Department.
Called the 'RAP Sheet', the weekly report will list specific projects and locations along with the project type, zone designation and the status of the project.
"One of the most frequent questions asked by the public and media is 'what's going in there' in reference to construction activity in a particular area of the community," said Community Development Director Ken Young. "The RAP Sheet will help address the curiosity and provide relevant project information. It's exciting to know where a particular restaurant, hotel or other business development is being located."
The Department is also issuing a quarterly newsletter called 'Rapid Developments' which will update the community on department items of importance.
The RAP Sheet and Rapid Developments newsletter are available online in the 'Top News' section of the City's website www.rcgov.org .
