(UPDATE 12/5/23) One Week Remains: Several Tags Remain Available at City's Angel Tree Locations

AT CITY’S ANGEL TREE LOCATIONS

Public encouraged to pick up gift tags,

shop for item, drop off unwrapped gifts

RAPID CITY, SD—With one week remaining, about two dozen gift tags remain to be taken at the City’s Angel Tree locations.

            Deadline to pick up gift tags and drop off gifts at the locations is next Tuesday, December 12.  Several dozen tags have already been collected by the public and officials expect a rush to drop off the gifts by next Tuesday’s deadline. 

           City officials remind the public of the easy process to make the holiday season a special experience for local children.

             The public can visit one of the Angel Tree locations, pick up a gift tag containing a child’s generic information, shop for an item and drop off the tag with the unwrapped item back at the same location.  For a list of the most needed gift items this year, and easy online shopping options, the public can scan the QR code on the back of the gift tag or go online at the Salvation Army’s website at rapidcityangeltree.org .

            There are numerous Angel Tree locations in Rapid City, including City Hall at 300 Sixth Street; the Rapid City Police Department at the Public Safety Building, 300 Kansas City Street; the Roosevelt Park Swim Center at 125 Waterloo Street and the Roosevelt Park Ice Arena, 235 Waterloo Street. The Rapid City Parks and Recreation Department is also participating with an Angel Tree among its staff.

           Additional drop-off locations are at the Salvation Army in Rapid City at 405 N. Cherry, or in Spearfish at 320 Ryan Road.
