City Offices Adjust Schedules For New Year's Day

RAPID CITY--City offices are adjusting schedules for the New Year's Day holiday.

            CITY OFFICES: City offices are closed Tuesday, January 1.  Tuesday's Public Works Committee meeting is moved to Wednesday, January 2 at 12:30 p.m. with the regularly-scheduled Legal and Finance Committee meeting to follow immediately after the conclusion of the Public Works Committee meeting.

            RAPID CITY LANDFILL/TRASH COLLECTION: The Rapid City Landfill will be closed New Year's Day.  Trash collection for New Year's week includes Tuesday collections on Wednesday and normal collection on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, leave out until collected.

            RAPID CITY LIBRARY: Both the Downtown and North libraries will close at 5 p.m. December 31 and will be closed New Year's Day.

            RAPID TRANSIT SERVICES:  Rapid Transit Services - including RapidRide and Dial-A-Ride services - will not be operating New Year's Day on Tuesday, January 1.

            RUSHMORE PLAZA CIVIC CENTER: On Monday, New Year's Eve Day, administrative offices will be open until 5 p.m. and the box office open until 8 p.m.  The facility is closed New Year's Day.

            ROOSEVELT PARK SWIM CENTER: The Roosevelt Swim Center will close at 5 p.m. December 31.  The facility will open at 8 a.m. New Year's Day and will operate normal hours January 1-4 with open swim time beginning at 1 p.m. all four days.

            ROOSEVELT PARK ICE ARENA: The Ice Arena will close at 4 p.m. New Year's Eve.  The facility will be open New Year's Day with 1:30-3:30 p.m. public skate time.  The facility is hosting "School's Out" sessions on December 31 and January 2 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. with $6 admission including skates.  The facility is hosting public skate times with $6 admission and $4 skate rentals from January 1, 3 and 5; 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on January 4; 1:30-9 p.m. on December 29; 2:45-6 p.m. December 30; and 6:30-9 p.m. on January 5.

            RAPID CITY PARKS:  West Community Gym will be open from 1-4 p.m. December 28 and January 2-4.  Fee is $2 per person per day.

            RAPID CITY STREETS:  The Streets Department will be closed January 1, however crews will be dispatched for a storm event.

            RAPID CITY REGIONAL AIRPORT:  Rapid City Regional Airport will be open New Year's Day, however administrative offices will be closed.  Travelers are advised to check the status of individual flights with the airlines.

            RAPID CITY FIRE AND POLICE:  Both departments will be operating regular shift schedules during the holiday period with administrative offices closed January 1.
