City Launches Coronavirus Response Hub

COVID Community Updates, Resources Information;

Feeding and Donation Maps, Twitter Connections Among Features

RAPID CITY, SD--In an effort to keep the community updated on local impacts and information related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Rapid City today has launched its Coronavirus Response Hub.

            The Coronavirus Response Hub can be accessed by visiting https://city-of-rapid-city-coronavirus-response-rcpc.hub.arcgis.com/ .  The site was produced by the City's Geographic Information System (GIS) Division.

            The Response Hub is a link providing City government updates, COVID-19 virus updates, community resources information, maps of community feeding sites and donation locations, and active tweets from the City, Mayor Allender, Monument Health and the Centers for Disease Control.  Other information on the site includes links to Rapid City-Pennington County Emergency Management, the 211 Helpline Center, Pennington Outdoors and important COVID information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

            "This feature to the City's website provides the public with a 'one-stop shop' opportunity for vital information on the city's response to COVID and to access vital community resources and information," said Mayor Steve Allender.  "We encourage the public to check out the site."

            GIS Division Manager Angela Tallon indicates her staff began working on the project last week.

            In recent months, the City's GIS Division has also produced innovative construction and recreational mapping features. The GIS Division provides mapping services, data and technical support to the public as well as to the staffs of City and County government. The GIS Division page includes access to City and County voting precincts, the City's air quality zone, downtown parking map, the City's major street plan. RapidMap services offers information on land parcels, aerial photos, address points and other map information.  Survey Points provides information on area survey points.
