Informal events provide updates, gather input from planners, developers, public
RAPID CITY--The City's Department of Community Development hosted its quarterly "Coffee With Planners" today in Council Chambers of the City/School Administration Center. The session attracted about 30 attendees.
City staff led discussion at three tables featuring various topics which participants could rotate throughout the session, according to City officials. Discussions centered on updates on current Rapid City development projects, a review of historic preservation goals and processes, and home occupation guidelines among other planning issues.
Numerous questions were posed to City staff from the participants during the discussion.
"The coffee sessions are a great way to provide updates from the City and to continue dialogue and discussion between planners, developers, members of the public and City staff," said Community Development Director Ken Young. "The feedback and input from these informal meetings are very important to City staff."
The coffee events are held quarterly. The next session is scheduled in three months.
