Informal discussions provide updates, gather input from planners, developers, public
RAPID CITY--The City's Department of Community Development will host its quarterly "Coffee With Planners" Wednesday, February 6 at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers of the City/School Administration Center. The public is invited.
Participants can rotate to three discussion tables featuring various topics during the session, according to City officials. Table discussions will include a review of the current plans for the new Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Arena which is scheduled to begin construction this summer; the City's tax increment financing (TIF) program and the proposed revised policy; and a proposal to remove the permitted residential land uses from the Office Commercial Zone and clarifying what uses are permitted in residential and commercial zones.
"The coffee sessions provide participants the opportunity to sit down to enjoy a cup of coffee and a bagel or doughnut and engage with city staff in the planning of your community," said Community Development Director Ken Young. "These quarterly discussions are quite productive for participants and City staff."
The coffee events are held quarterly. Coffee, bagels and doughnuts will be provided.
