Study's Recommendations Determine City's Five-Year Plan for Utility Rates

RAPID CITY--Findings and recommendations from the 2017 Water and Water Reclamation Utility Rate Study will be shared with the City Council Monday night, October 16.  The Study and its findings and recommendations were detailed at two open houses October 10 and 11.   Check out the power point presentation in the 'Top News' section on the City's home page.

A presentation will be provided by HDR Engineering, Inc. which conducted the rate study.  The Coucil's agenda includes discussion and adoption of the new five-year plan.  If approved, the new plan will be implemented beginning January 1, 2018.

The City's last utility rate study was conducted in 2008 and implemented in 2009.  The Utility Rate Study assists city officials in the development of rate policies, utility rate plans and enactment of user rates that support and fund operations and necessary capital improvement needs to maintain service levels.
