City employees have pledged more than $53,000 to United Way of the Black Hills. A pledge check was presented at the United Way October 26 as part of United Way's Get Back The Pack Day activities.
Rapid City Police and Fire Department officials signaled the effort in fine style with sirens and lights as they pulled up to the United Way office. A presentation was made including City Finance Officer Pauline Sumption, United Way Director Jamie Toennies and members of the City's Fire and Police Departments.
Sumption was very pleased at the outpouring of giving by City employees this year. United Way has established a fundraising goal of $1,950,000 this year.
