The Rapid City Planning Commission approved two requests at a February meeting to transform the former Garfield School area on Dilger Avenue to an apartment complex and eight single family homes.

The Garfield School hasn't been in operation since the 2000-01 school year.  The requests approved by the Commission will transform the School into a three-story apartment complex and the playground and parking lot areas will be the location for eight single-family home dwellings for Habitat for Humanity.
