RAPID CITY--The Vision Fund Citizen Committee and the City will present recommendations for the 2019 three-year project plan period for Vision Funds at a special session scheduled Thursday, January 31 at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.

Committee Chairman George Grassby and Mayor Steve Allender will make presentations on community and City projects to be recommended for consideration by Council.  The presentations will include questions and discussion by Council members.

The session is open to the public.

The nine-member Vision Fund Citizen Committee has been meeting since early October, vetting 22 community proposals.  The process included reviewing follow-up information from applicants on the proposals, conducting two days of public hearings where each applicant was invited to present their project, attending several site tours of project locations, reviewing the complete history of Vision Fund project requests and funding dating back to 1995, and reviewing associations for each project to the goals and values presented in Rapid City's Comprehensive Plan especially the Plan's Seven Core Values.

A second special Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 7 if needed.
