City Parks crews are filling the renovated Braeburn Park Ice Rink with water this week (January 21).  Crews started renovations a year ago and this winter, thanks to donations from Knechts, Scheels and others, additional improvements have been made including a rink liner.

Crews are pumping in water from nearby Rapid Creek into the rink and if Mother Nature cooperates with cold temperatures, the ice should be ready for this weekend.

The Braeburn Ice Rink was a popular place for skaters and hockey players in the 1970s and 1980s before falling into disrepair with non-use.  Braeburn Park is also a very popular dog park.
