RAPID CITY--Mayor Steve Allender has scheduled an additional public presentation on the future of the Civic Center's Barnett Arena.

The presentation is scheduled for Monday, February 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Civic Center's LaCroix Hall A.   It will be Mayor Allender's seventh public presentation on future options for the Barnett Arena.

"There continues to be a solid level of community interest and attendance at the public presentations," said Mayor Allender.  "I feel it's important to schedule another presentation prior to the special City Council session."

A special meeting of the City Council has been scheduled for Monday, February 26 to determine whether to build a new Arena or remodel the existing Barnett facility, and to approve the funding sources for the chosen option.

Previous presentations were offered in September, October and January.  In addition, the Mayor continues to schedule presentations to community groups.

The February 12 event will include Mayor Allender's presentation, a question and answer session and a tour of the Barnett Arena.   In addition, the public can view the entire presentation or specific segments online. "The Future of Don Barnett Arena: Investment or Expense?" can be viewed at http://www.barnettarena.com .

There are 10 video segments to choose from including the entire presentation.  Individual links include segments entitled introduction, history, attendance, economic impact, competitive challenges, options, pros and cons, funding, wrap-up and the entire presentation.
