Citizens gathered at Main Street Square Tuesday morning for reflections on the occasion of the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the nation.

Senator John Thune shared a presentation filled with personal recollections and reflections on the impact of the 2001 tragedy on the country, the state and our citizens.  Rapid City Council member Jason Salamun served as emcee for the event which included beautiful renditions of 'The Star Spangled Banner' and 'God Bless America' by Bill Clark, a fitting invocation, and recognitions of First Responders who attended the event.  Council member Lisa Modrick and various City staff also attended the event.

Rapid City Police and Fire personnel were on hand along with equipment.
