The 49th annual Rapid City Clean-Up Week is scheduled for April 22-27.
Citizens and organizations are encouraged to help clean up public areas and it's a great opportunity to clean up around the house, garage and yard and discard items. During the week, there will be free disposal of household trash and recyclables at the Rapid City Landfill for small load customers. The Landfill is located at 5555 Highway 79 and hours of operation are 7 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Visit the same website listed above for more information and exceptions (no Freon-bearing appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, etc. will be accepted; no hazardous waste or liquids will be accepted).
There will also be a yard waste compost and co-compost sale.
Trash to Treasures Day is Saturday, April 27 at the Landfill's Material Recovery Facility (MRF). The public is invited to drop off and/or pick up items. Please contact the Solid Waste Department for restrictions or acceptable materials at 355-3496.
