“The Guide provides information on just about every program, class, activity and event hosted by the Rapid City Parks and Recreation Department,” said Lindsey Myers, City Parks and Recreation Specialist for Special Events. “The guide is a great online resource tool to check out what’s happening with Parks and Rec this spring and summer – in our parks and at our pools, ice arena, golf courses and tennis courts.”
The annual summer guide includes information from the City’s aquatics, golf and parks divisions, the Roosevelt Park Ice Arena, tennis and recreation programs. Summer featured events will again include the popular hydrant parties, teen night pool parties and a family night at the Jimmy Hilton pool. The guide includes information on the City Recreation Department’s pickleball, bocce ball, tennis, sand volleyball and indoor volleyball leagues as well as September youth and adult flag football leagues.
Myers advises the public to check the City’s Parks and Rec Facebook page for updates on upcoming events such as the annual Cardboard Boat Races in June at the Roosevelt Park Swim Center.
The Guide also includes information on swim lessons and special events and promotions at the City’s pools, as well as public skate, skating lessons and hockey opportunities at the Roosevelt Park Ice Arena.
Tennis anyone? The guide includes information on summer tennis camps. Want to hit the links? Check the guide for information on golf leagues at Executive Golf Course and Meadowbrook Golf Course, summer special events and the annual Junior Golf Boot Camp.
There’s a complete listing of the City’s parks, including off-leash parks and which parks have shelters available for reservation.
