Retired Senior Volunteer Program Advisory Council *

The Black Hills Retired Senior Volunteer Program, also known as RSVP+, is a grant funded program awarded to the City of Rapid City by the Corporation of National and Community Service for the purpose of engaging persons 55 and older in volunteer services to meet critical needs of the community.  Advisory Council members assist the sponsor with gaining increased visibility and recognition in the community.

Interested candidates should be knowledgeable of human and social needs of the community.


RESIDENCY/REGISTERED VOTER REQUIREMENT

None

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Duties include assessing community needs; fund raising and non-federal resource development; supporting the development of a strong service ethic in the community; advise on volunteer recruitment, retention, and recognition strategies; linking community service resources; assisting the program in gaining increased visibility and recognition in the community; and advising on how trends in the community are affecting seniors.

MEETING


Regular meetings of the Advisory Council are held no less than quarterly. Meeting schedule is determined by vote of the majority of the Advisory Council at the annual meeting each year.
