The Community Investment Committee reveiws annual Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) sub-grantee applications and make recommendations to the Common Council regarding the selection of sub-grantees. This Committee also reviews annual applications and make recommendations to the Common Council regarding the selection of the General Fund non-profit grantees.
The Community Investment Committee appoints and confirms the members of the Rapid City Strengthening Families Committee, receives and reviews quarterly reports and assists the Rapid City Strengthening Families Committee with overcoming issues and barriers to meet the high priority needs of the community.
NUMBER OF MEMBERS
Community leaders from non-profit agencies, education, and business are encouraged to apply. At least one member of the Strengthening Families Committee should serve on this committee, and at least one of the members shall be associated with a foundation or other charitable fund source in Rapid City.
RESIDENCY/REGISTERED VOTER REQUIREMENT
Must be a resident of Rapid City or of the City’s extraterritorial platting jurisdiction.
The Committee meets quarterly with location to be determined and holds additional meetings as necessary to meet any CDBG Program deadlines that may be applicable to the Committee’s duties.
