Shooting incident in 200 block of E. Philadelphia Street now a homicide investigation

A shooting incident from August 17th has now turned into a homicide investigation.

At around 10:50 p.m. on August 17th, police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of E. Philadelphia Street for a report of a shooting that had just occurred. On arrival, police located a single male subject with a gunshot wound on laying on the ground. This individual would be transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

The shooting victim has since succumbed to his injuries. He is identified as 43-year-old Nathan Graham of Rapid City.

During the course of the investigation, police located two juvenile males suspected to be involved in the incident. They have since been taken into custody in relation to the investigation. No one else is believed to have been involved during the shooting incident.

Because the suspects are juveniles, the RCPD is extremely limited in the amount of information that can be detailed about their involvement in the incident.

* The charges are merely accusations and the arrested individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty.  Any additional details regarding this case can be obtained from the Pennington County State’s Attorney and/or court records as appropriate.
