Hot off the presses: The Rapid City Parks & Recreation Department has issued the 2016 Summer Program Guides.

Featuring front page photos of various City recreation venues, the summer guide is an A-to-Z tool for parents, outdoor enthusiasts, visitors and citizens looking for activities and to take up a new hobby.

The Guide provides helpful information on camps and classes in a variety of activities that are available to people of all ages.  There is special event information for such activities as the Black Hills Senior Games, the Black Hills Fat Tire Festival, National Bike to Work Week and the Recration Mountain Bike Race.

Activities at the Roosevelt Swim Center, the Roosevelt Ice Arena, the local swimming pools and youth and adult recreation programs in numerous sports and activites are also profiled along with important date, deadline and contact information.  The guides are available at City Hall, the Parks & Rec office, the Swim Center and the Ice Arena and were distributed to area schools.

Applicants can register online for all programs at www.rcparksandrec.org .  For more information, contact the Parks & Recreation Office at 394-5225.
