Interested in getting involved in local government? City Boards/Committees

The City is seeking candidates to fill vacancies on several City boards, commissions, and committees. The City has over 30 boards, committees and commissions with citizens serving on them.Those interested in volunteering are encouraged to visit the City’s website at www.rcgov.org for additional information.  

The City of Rapid City has established a variety of boards, committees and commissions that provide residents an opportunity to use their unique talents and abilities to benefit our community. Service on a commission or board allows the opportunity to provide important input on policies that shape our Government and our City. There are more than 30 boards, committees and commissions that advise the Mayor and City Council on a variety of issues. In most cases, appointments are recommended by the Mayor and confirmed by the Rapid City Common Council. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply
