Make Music Black Hills is a live, free celebration of music on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. Musicians perform on streets, sidewalks & parks across the city & at the library!
Launched in France in 1982 as the Fete de la Musique, Make Music is held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries. France celebrates the Fete as a national holiday.
Unlike a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician - young & old, amateur & professional, of every musical persuasion - pours onto streets, parks, plazas & porches to share their music with friends, neighbors & strangers. All of it is free & open to the public.
