During a self-imposed exile in the South of France, Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh develops his unique, colorful style of painting. Journey inside the world & mind of an individual who despite skepticism, ridicule & illness, created some of the world's most beloved & stunning works of art.

Academy Award Best Actor nominee Willem Dafoe is mesmerizing as Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh. The film dramatizes a controversial theory put forward by biographers Steven Naifeh & Gregory White Smith in Van Gogh: The Life that speculates van Gogh's death was caused by mischief rather than suicide.

At Eternity's Gate is directed & co-edited by Julian Schnabel. Principal photography took place in late 2017 over 38 days at various location across France where van Gogh resided during his final years.

This film is rated PG-13.
