Real People | Sharing Real Food | In Real Conversation
Rhonda Pearcy combined her love for cooking & passion for the community of Rapid City to create the Fork Real Café, a non-profit pay-what-you-can community café that offers a welcoming environment & fresh farm-to-table meals. Dedicated to increasing food security & community building, Fork Real encourages philanthropy with options to pay the value of the meal, pay it forward for another person’s meal or volunteer in exchange for a meal.
Pearcy spent 10 years in the education system & completed her Masters of Education in the neuroscience of holistic community learning. She managed the kitchen of the Cornerstone Rescue Mission for one year. Fork Real Café is modeled after One World Everybody Eats, an organization of over 60 cafes operating throughout the United States from New Jersey to North Carolina to Colorado.
Fork Real Café believes in slow food that is healthful & delicious. Their menu changes daily to accommodate seasonal items, promotes sustainability & minimizes food waste.
March’s lunch is provided by the Friends of the Library & Fork Real Community Café.
