The most skilled young computer programmers from around the world converge on Rapid City May 20 for the 41st annual International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC).
Hosted by Excellence in Computer Programming, the non-profit corporation’s president Dr. Richard Gowen, provides a behind-the-scenes look at the event & the importance of the competition.
Gowen was president at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology from 1987-2003 where computer coding teams from SDSM&T have qualified for the ICPC World Finals six times since 1998. It has been 12 years since the ICPC has been held in the United States.
Lunch is provided by the Friends of the Library & Great Harvest Bread Co.
