Haakon Street
Lane Restriction

Effective Monday, August 26, 2019, a portion of Haakon Street, located to the north of Homestead Street, will be restricted to one lane traffic for the installation of a new storm sewer. The duration of the work in this immediate area will be for 2 days.

3RD STREET AND MAIN STREET
Traffic Signal

Effective Friday, August 23, 2019, the traffic signal at 3rd Street and Main Street will be turned off to repair the signal controller base. The intersection will have a 2 way stop on 3rd Street. Sidewalks to the east and to the west will have a small area coned off around the hand vault. At times, the south lane on Main Street will be closed for the repair operations. This work is expected to be completed by August 29, 2019.

Sheffer Street
Closed to through traffic

Effective Thursday, August 22, 2019, Sheffer Street will be closed to through traffic from West Chicago Street to West Main Street for utility construction. Access to local businesses will be maintained. The duration of closure will be 7 days beginning at 6:00 AM Thursday, August 22nd, and the road will be reopened to traffic by 6:00 PM Wednesday, August 28th.

Robbinsdale Area
Sanitary Sewer Smoke Testing

City Utility Maintenance personnel and FEC, Inc. will be smoke testing sanitary sewers starting Wednesday, August 21 through Thursday, August 22 in the Robbinsdale Area from Texas Street to East Minnesota Street and Fifth Street to Parkview Drive; and along Texas Street west of Fifth Street.  Smoke testing is expected to occur between the hours of 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Homeowners and landlords in the affected area have received two letters in recent months and a door hanger is being placed on homes and businesses in the project area reminding them of the smoke testing.

Field technicians will be in the affected area during the testing period.  Anyone with questions may contact the City's Utility Maintenance Division at 394-4163 weekdays, or 394-4160 nights and weekends, or FEC, Inc. at 343-3311.

Seger Drive and 143rd Avenue Intersection
Lane Closures

Effective Monday, August 19, 2019, Seger Drive at the intersection with 143rd Avenue will have lane closures.  Lane closures will be set up daily from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm for concrete panel foam jacking.  Traffic will be maintained through the work area.  Work is anticipated to be completed by Friday, August 23, 2019.

Downtown Alley Restrictions
Traffic Clsoures

Effective Monday, August 19, 2019, MDU will be working in the alley located between 6th Street and West Boulevard between Saint Joseph Street and Main Street.  Partial alley closures/restrictions will be in place until September 19, 2019.

Berry Boulevard at West Chicago Street
Yield Sign replaced with Stop Sign

Effective Monday, August 19, 2019, the existing Yield sign on Berry Boulevard at West Chicago Street will be replaced with a Stop sign.  All traffic on Berry Boulevard will be required to come to a stop before turning left or right onto West Chicago Street.

Kansas City Street
Traffic Restriction

Effective Monday, August 19th, 2019, Kansas City Street will be closed to westbound traffic between 2nd Street and 4th Street. Eastbound traffic will be affected but should remain open. This work is expected to be completed by August 23rd (weather permitting). The sidewalk on the north side of Kansas City Street will also be closed during this time, please follow designated detour routes.

E Monroe Street & Waterloo Street
Road Closure

Starting Thursday, August 15, 2019, the following streets will have asphalt and curb & gutter repairs:

    • E Monroe Street from N LaCrosse to Waterloo Street
    • Waterloo Street from E Monroe Street to E Watertown Street.

This work should be completed by September 13, 2019, weather permitting.

Disk Drive and Haines Avenue
Traffic Restriction

Effective Monday, August 12, 2019, the area near the intersection of Disk Drive and Haines Avenue will have multiple lane closures that will restrict traffic for a utility and street replacement project.  Motorists are encouraged to utilize alternate routes to avoid the I-90 Exit 58 off ramps as well as traveling northbound on Haines Avenue.  This work is expected to be completed by November 15, 2019.

Tompkins Street between Fulton and Clark
Closed to through traffic

Effective Monday, August 5, 2019, the portion of Tompkins Street located between Fulton and Clark Street will be closed for the Fulton Street Reconstruction Project. The duration of the road closure in this immediate area will be for approximately 2 months. The sidewalks in the area will also be closed.

Fulton Street will remain closed from West Boulevard to 9th Street for the completion of Phase 4 of the reconstruction project. The sidewalks in the area will also remain closed.

The portion of Fulton Street will also remain closed from West Boulevard to 11th Street for the Fulton Street Reconstruction project. The sidewalks in the area will also be closed.

Park Drive between Glenwood Drive and Westridge Road and Margaret Court
Lane Closure Construction Work

Construction work will begin on July 29, 2019 and continue through August 23, 2019 on Park Drive from the intersection of Park Drive and Glenwood Drive to south of the intersection of Park Drive and Westridge Road. Margaret Court is also part of this construction project.  Streets in the project area will be intermittently reduced to one lane. Alternate access will be maintained and provided for certain road sections if there is a short-term closure during construction.

Effective Monday, July 22, 2019, MDU will be working in the alley located between 6th Street and West Boulevard between Saint Joseph Street and Kansas City Street.  Partial alley closures/restrictions will be in place until mid-August, 2019.

Founders Park Drive Bridge
Lane Closure

Beginning July 22, 2019, the bridge located on Founders Park Drive north of the Omaha Street and 12th Street/Founders Park Drive intersection near the Executive Golf Course will be reduced to one lane of traffic.  Signals will be installed to control traffic across the bridge.  A pedestrian detour will be provided utilizing the bike path.  The bike path will remain unimpeded by the construction.

The bridge is being rehabilitated under a South Dakota Department of Transportation contract.  Upon completion in October, the bridge will return to two traffic lanes with a dedicated pedestrian/golf cart lane that will be separated by a barrier.

East Fairlane Drive
Closed to Through Traffic

Effective Monday, July 8, 2019, East Fairlane Drive will be closed to through traffic east of Elm Street to the dead end of the street past the intersection with Ivy Avenue.  This reconstruction is expected to be completed by October 20, 2019.

East Boulevard North, East Chicago Street, East Saint Louis Street
Road Closure

Starting Monday, July 29, 2019, East Boulevard North, East Chicago Street and East Saint Louis Street will be closed for construction. East Boulevard North will be closed to through traffic from East Saint Louis Street to New York Street. East Chicago Street between East Boulevard North and North Maple Avenue will also be closed to through traffic. The intersection of East Boulevard North and East Saint Louis Street will be closed to through traffic.  Access to businesses in the project area will be allowed.  Construction is expected to be completed by Monday, September 9, 2019.

Range Road & 38th Street
Street Closure

Effective Monday, June 24, 2019, Range Road will be closed to through traffic at 38th Street.  38th Street will also remain closed from the intersection of Range Road to Burns Drive. Vehicular and pedestrians detours will be provided.  The work in the Range Road intersection will be completed prior to the beginning of school.  The overall completion date for the project is October 18, 2019.

Fulton Street
Closed to Through Traffic

Effective Monday, June 17, 2019, Fulton Street from West Boulevard to the alley west of 11th Street will be closed to through traffic for the Fulton Street Reconstruction project. The duration of the road closure will be for approximately 3 months. The sidewalks in this area will be closed.

St Cloud Street
Road Closure

Phase 1 of St Cloud Street construction work will begin March 25, 2019 at intersection of St. Cloud and West Blvd west through 11th Street intersection. St. Cloud will be closed to traffic through duration of construction with restricted access west of 11th Street intersection.
