For patrol purposes, Rapid City police officers split the city into four main sectors. Patrol officers are assigned to each sector, in an effort to build positive relationships with the citizens of that sector.
The Field Services Division includes four Sector Lieutenants; each oversees certain sectors. Community members with non-emergency questions or concerns are encouraged to contact their Sector Lieutenant.
