Lap Swimming/Walking

  • Lap Swimming
One length of the indoor pool equals 25 yards. Swim 18 lengths for a quarter mile, 36 for a half mile and 72 lengths for one mile. Come down, start slowly and work up to swimming miles per visit. If swimming is not your forte, use the same distances while you are walking in the pool. There is no age limit in our lap lane; we just ask you to swim or walk and share the lane with other patrons.
  • Water Walking
If swimming is not your forte, come down and walk the same distances with a buoyancy belt in the lap pool. If you are not comfortable in deep water, walk in our channel. It takes 30 trips around the channel and pipe to equal one mile. We ask that you walk and share the channel with our classes and other patrons.
