BIOGRAPHY
Kevin grew up in South Dakota and graduated with a bachelor’s degree and MBA from the University of South Dakota. He started a career in banking/financial services in Sioux Falls. Maher and his wife Denise moved to Rapid City in 1995 where they raised three children. He spent 37 years in banking and established a large operations center to service a national credit card portfolio, mortgages, powersports and fintech loans. Maher recently retired as the general manager of Synchrony Bank’s Operations Center in Rapid City with 450 employees.
Maher is active in the community serving as the Chairman of the Rapid City Vision Fund Citizens Committee and as a RCAS TeamMates mentor. He served as the Honorary Commander of the 34th Bomb Squadron, Ellsworth AFB., Chairman of the Board for Junior Achievement of the Black Hills and on the board of the United Way of the Black Hills.
Maher also served on the boards of Elevate Rapid City, RC Chamber of Commerce, President of the Rapid City Catholic School System, and the RC Community Development Corporation. I have been active in community service throughout my time in Rapid City and look forward to serving the citizens of Ward 3 and the entire Rapid City area.
