Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

At this time we will continue to offer drive-thru access at the downtown library, digital library offerings and virtual services with the building remaining closed. We are taking steps to ensure that once we do reopen, the library is as safe as we can make it for everyone. Please check back for an upcoming opening date announcement or follow us on Facebook!

The North branch at General Beadle will be closed through May 28.

Our drive-thru window downtown is open and staff are available via phone, text, or email during regular library hours.

What if my items are due?
Contact the library by calling 605-394-6139.

Can I drop off my materials in outdoor book drops?
Outdoor book drops will remain open and are being emptied daily.

Eastside - 747 Timmons Boulevard at Timmons Market
Downtown Library - 610 Quincy St.
General Beadle Elementary - 10 Van Buren St.
Westside - 102 Federal Avenue at RC3 Fire Station

What if my holds are ready?
Holds that are listed as ready for pick-up will be available to pick up at the downtown library for seven days.

Can I apply for a library card?
You are welcome to apply for a library card at the library’s drive thru window
or online HERE

My library card is about to expire. How can I renew?
All accounts nearing their expiration dates have been renewed until June 13, 2020.
