Lisa Modrick was appointed the City Council Liaison to the Rapid City Public Library Board of Trustees in July 2018. She graduated from Colton High School and attended San Bernardino Valley College in California. She moved to the Black Hills from California in 1981. Modrick worked in travel and tourism at the Black Hills, Badlands and Lakes Association, and as Executive Director of the Spearfish Chamber of Commerce. Moving to Rapid City, she worked in office technology sales for Best Business Products.
In 1993, she purchased a small travel agency. As President of Modrick's Travel, she was a successful business owner, building the business into one of the most recognized agencies in the midwest.
She is retired after 35 years in the travel and tourism industry.
Modrick has served as past President of the Rapid City Regional Airport Board of Directors, past President of the Rapid City Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors, Treasurer of the Mt. Rushmore Road Group Board of Directors, co-founder and past President of Scenic Rapid City, past President of Zonta Club of the Black Hills Board of Directors, and served on the Rapid City Regional Hospital Advisory Board. She has received numerous awards and recognitions throughout her career and volunteer work.
Modrick has been married to her husband, Mike, since 1989. She enjoys scuba diving, traveling, adventure, and being with family and friends.
