Agenda Item Summary:
Public participation is vital to the Railroad Quiet Zone Study in order to generate ideas and build support by engaging residents, businesses, elected officials and other stakeholders throughout the community. It provides the broadest spectrum of relevant, available information prior to the community’s decision-making, and it provides the public an opportunity to raise concerns that can be considered with discussion of technical, political and economic issues. The City of Rapid City welcomes the early and continued participation of the public in developing the City’s policies and plans.
Several activities are scheduled including media/press releases, Facebook updates, and public open houses, all intended to actively solicit comments and engage the interests of the public through the participation process.
