Agenda Item Summary:
The City of Piedmont has applied for a Transportation Alternatives Program Grant through the South Dakota Department of Transportation to construct sidewalks along Second and Third Streets in the vicinity of Piedmont Valley Elementary School. This project would provide a safer non-motorized transportation connection to the city park and the public library. The MPO has consistently encouraged alternative transportation facilities throughout the region as identified in the previous Long Range Transportation Plan updates. Supporting member agency multimodal activities helps to bring the MPO’s goals to fruition.
