Agenda Item Summary:
A request was received in the Engineering Office on April 5th,2024 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk along Edwards Street per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. A five-foot wide property line sidewalk is required to be constructed along Edwards Street at the time of building permit.
There are currently no sidewalks on Edwards Street, which is a rural street section with ditches for drainage. A building permit application will be applied for soon for this parcel, which requires sidewalk installation per ordinance. Public Works concurs with the applicant’s justification and recommends approval of this request.
