A request was received in the Engineering Office on December 11th, 2024 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk at address 2610 Commerce Rd. per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. Sidewalk is required to be constructed for 2610 Commerce Rd, at the time of building permit. All of the properties around 2610 Commerce Rd. are developed along with said property and no sidewalks in place. The property owner is looking to build a storage facility on the property triggering the need to install sidewalk. The requested variance will allow for construction on the property without the installation of sidewalk in right-of-way. The adjacent Commerce Rd. is a two lane, paved, rural street section with no sidewalks and topographical conflicts.
