A request was received in the Engineering Office on April 28, 2023 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk along Muirfield Drive per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. A five-foot wide sidewalk is required to be constructed along Muirfield Drive at the time of building permit. Muirfield Drive is a two lane, paved, collector street with curb and gutter. Sidewalks are installed on the west side of the road adjacent to this property and both sides of the road further north. Public Works recommends denial of the request. The installation of sidewalk for this property will help to provide continuous pedestrian access along the east side of Muirfield Drive.
Staff recommends denial of the sidewalk variance request for Muirfield Drive.
