Agenda Item Summary:
FMG Engineering has recently submitted a building permit application for the first phase of the Rapid City Fire Department’s Fire Training Facility. The City-owned property is on the east side of Creek Drive approximately 2,000 feet south of East Saint Patrick Street. The property is located in the South Creek Industrial Park No. 2 Subdivision. Creek Drive is a paved asphalt street with curb & gutter and no sidewalk. The nearest sidewalk is in East Saint Patrick Street, approximately 2,000 feet to the north. There is some sidewalk on one side of Lombardy Drive fronting the Monument Health property. The majority of the parcels on Creek Drive are developed, with the only mechanism to construct sidewalk is City Council ordering sidewalk in. Public Works recommends approval of this variance request.
