Agenda Item Summary:
A request was received in the Engineering Office on February 27, 2023 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk for Canyon Park Subdivision along West Highway 44 and the Private Access Easement per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. A five-foot wide sidewalk along West Highway 44 and a four-foot wide sidewalk along the private access easement is required to be constructed at the time of platting. The property is outside of city limits but within the 3-mile platting jurisdiction. West Highway 44 is a rural highway section with no grading for sidewalks. The private access easement is a narrow paved road with topographical conflicts. There are no other sidewalks in the area
