A request was received in the Engineering Office on December 16th, 2022 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk along Pinedale Heights Dr and Pinedale Circle per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. A sidewalk is required to be constructed along on these roads at the time of building permit. The properties along both roads are developed and no sidewalks are in place. The requested variance will allow for construction on the property without the installation of sidewalk in the adjacent Pinedale Heights Dr and Pinedale Circle right-of-way. Both roads are two-lane local residential paved roads without sidewalks. The closest sidewalk is ½ mile away on North Berry Pine. Public Works recommends approval of this request.
