A request was received in the Engineering Office on August 8, 2022 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk along Moon Meadows Drive per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. A five-foot-wide property line sidewalk is required to be constructed along Moon Meadows Drive as part of platting due to being outside the City but within the 3-mile platting jurisdiction.
The adjacent Moon Meadows Drive is a two lane, paved rural street section with topographical challenges for installing sidewalk. The closest sidewalk is roughly 5500 feet to the east on Moon Meadows Drive. Public Works recommends approval of this request.
